President

Dr Sally Bundred

I have been a breast clinician since 2006, training and working at the Nightingale Centre in Manchester. I have worked in Chester/Wirral and I am now working as a Specialist BC in Gateshead.

I joined the ABC committee in 2021 as secretary and became President in 2023. In this role I support and promote the BC role on the Credential Oversight Board and I work on the NBIA eLearning Programme as BC lead. In my spare time I enjoy seeing family and outdoor life. 

Vice President

Dr Zoe Goldthorpe

Dr Zoe Goldthorpe has been a Breast Clinician since 2008, training and continuing to work in Taunton,Somerset. 

Previously a surgical trainee, she has served on the committee since 2013, initially as Treasurer, then President from 2017 to 2023 and now Vice President. 

She currently acts as educational supervisor to a credential trainee, in addition to a busy symptomatic and screening clinical practice encompassing all aspects of breast radiology. She is also the local screening director. 

Outside of medicine she enjoys family life, music and running.

Training Officer

Dr Nadia Akhtar

I am a Pakistani trained surgeon and after moving to UK settled as a Breast Clinician. 

I joined Breast Unit at Northampton General Hospital NHS trust in 2017 and then completed my MSc in Breast Evaluation in 2020 and now working in both symptomatic and screening setups. 

I occasionally teach medical students as well. I am an advocate of improving clinical practice through evidence, research, audit and reflection on experiences and feedbacks. 

Outside work, I love reading and spending time with family.

Treasurer 

Dr Alice Moody

After a career break I found my way back to medicine by becoming a Breast Clinician in 2016. I completed my PGDip in Breast Evaluation in 2020 and I work in Bristol in both the symptomatic and screening breast services. 

I am the lead for both of the Family History and Very High Risk services as well as educational co-lead for the department. 

I joined the ABC committee in 2024 and am excited to advocate for our members - a group of highly specialised and talented individuals who should be celebrated for their contribution to breast care nationally. 

Trainee Breast Clinician Representative

Dr Harsha Pratap

I am a Trainee Breast Clinician at the Nightingale Centre in Manchester and have been representing learners in the Breast Disease Management Credential programme on the Association of Breast Clinicians (ABC) executive committee since 2023. In this role, I advocate for trainee needs, helping to enhance their training experiences and education. 

After graduating from India, I came to the UK as a Commonwealth Shared Scholar to pursue MSc in Healthcare Education. I began working in the NHS taking on various surgical roles including Core Surgical Training before transitioning into breast disease management. Since starting the Breast Disease Management Credential programme in 2022, I have developed a strong interest in breast radiology and family history. My clinical work and research focus on these areas. I enjoy teaching and currently organise national virtual Family History teaching sessions for Credential programme learners and also teach Breast Radiology to undergraduate medical students locally. 

Secretary

Dr Vrinda Sukumaran

I’m a trainee breast clinician based at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton. My medical journey began in India, where I completed my primary medical qualification and postgraduate training in General Surgery. 

After moving to the UK, I worked as a Trust Doctor in Upper GI Surgery before becoming a trainee breast clinician. I enjoy combining my clinical experience with my organizational role as Secretary to help the association run smoothly and stay connected. I enjoy working within a supportive, wellconnected group and look forward to making positive contributions.
