SAS doctors play a vital role in the delivery of NHS services but can sometimes be overlooked when it comes to career development and recognition.
Join us to hear from the chair of the RCP SAS doctor network and senior RCP officers on the latest national changes for SAS doctors, the work of the RCP SAS doctor network and how the College can support you now and in the future to build a successful and enjoyable career.

The 2022 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting took place on 3rd–7th June 2022. Key breast cancer data from a UK perspective were identified by a Steering Committee of experts reflecting a range of specialities in breast oncology.
During the conference, the Steering Committee fed back on the data they believed were most relevant to share with the UK breast oncology clinical community. Key insights from our Steering Committee are presented in the Breast Cancer Highlights Report - access via buttons below.
To support your continued professional development, the Breast Cancer Highlights Report has been certified for CPD® accreditation by the CPD® Certification Service. Please follow the instructions at the end of the Breast Cancer Highlights Report to order your CPD® accredited certificate.
The collaborative ABC / RCR / HEE / NBIA Breast Clinician Credential Project was shortlisted for a BMJ award in 2020. Here is our video presentation for the judges, no real life presentations this year due to the pandemic. Sadly we didn't win our category but being shortlisted itself is a major achievement and thanks go to all involved in putting together the application, presentation and the project in general which has been a success.
President
I have been a breast clinician since 2007, training and working at the Nightingale Centre in Manchester. I completed my MSc in breast evaluation in 2012 and I have worked in both symptomatic and screening breast imaging at the Countess of Chester Breast Unit since 2016. I am lead breast clinician for the National Breast Imaging Academy eLearning project, a comprehensive on-line learning resource for breast clinicians, radiographers, consultant practitioners as well as trainee and consultant radiologists. I am passionate about improving patient care through education, audit and evidence. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, running, walking and travel.
Vice President
Secretary
I previously trained in paediatrics and general radiology before happily finding my role as a Breast Clinician in 2016. I have been part of the team in Taunton since 2016 working in both the screening and symptomatic services, and I completed my MSc in Breast Evaluation in 2020. Outside work I enjoy painting and running with my dog.
I am a Pakistani trained surgeon and after moving to UK settled as a Breast Clinician. I joined Breast Unit at Northampton General Hospital NHS trust in 2017 and then completed my MSc in Breast Evaluation in 2020 and now working in both symptomatic and screening setups. I occasionally teach medical students as well. I am an advocate of improving clinical practice through evidence, research, audit and reflection on experiences and feedbacks. Outside work, I love reading and spending time with family.

Vision Statement, ABC, January 2019
The Association of Breast Clinicians (ABC), represents doctors working in the UK as breast clinicians and was established over 25 years ago. During this time, multiple training pathways have been undertaken and the ABC has always strived for a recognised national curriculum and specialty. The collaboration with the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), developing a curriculum and training and assessment programme deliverable nationally as part of a pilot project backed by Health Education England (HEE), provides an opportunity for the role of the breast clinician to be standardised, certified through a credential and valued by every breast unit in the UK...view more & download
